Shortly before midnight last night (6/13/25) the Glenham Fire Department was requested to respond to the Rombout Fire District with tanker 43-31 to assist with a 2nd Alarm Fire on Maple Rd.

Shortly after clearing up and returning to service from the 2nd alarm fire, The GFD was requested by Town of Fishkill PD and New York State Police to assist with an extrication at the closed Downstate Correctional Facility on Red Schoolhouse Rd. An individual had become locked inside a prison cell and after several hours called for help. Using rescue tools and a little brute force the trapped individual would be freed. Quick thinking by firefighters and police who worked together in unison led to a good outcome for this individual. Also assisting on scene were members of NYSDOCCS.
