On Friday November 24th at 17:46hrs the Glenham Fire Department was dispatched to a reported chimney fire with a fire alarm sounding on Old Glenham Road. Initial dispatch included mutual aid engines from Castle Point FD and Rombout FD. Upon Arrival of 43-2 (Assistant Chief John Broas) at 17:48hrs an active chimney fire was discovered. 43-11 arrived quickly after and deployed a hose line to the first floor and members to the roof with chimney chains. As a precaution, Rombout’s ladder truck 62-45 was requested to the scene. Castle Point assisted with roof operations and Rombout with ladder operations.. Thanks to the quick work of the firefighters on scene, the fire was contained to the chimney. We would like to thank Castle Point and Rombout for their assistance on scene.
