On Tuesday, April 18th, The Glenham Fire Department hosted our neighbor and mutual aid partner from the Chelsea Fire Department for Search and Rescue training. Throughout the evening members performed several evolutions of search & rescue which is one of the most important tasks on the fire ground. Members from both departments worked together searching for and removing a victim from the building. To end the evening, firefighters trained on a mayday scenario in which the search team had become trapped and a team of firefighters from Chelsea and Glenham were tasked with locating and removing the trapped firefighters. Other training performed throughout the evening was incident command of a scene, scene size up and thermal imaging camera training. The Glenham Fire Department would like to thank the Officers and Members of the Chelsea Fire Department for joining us for training and we look forward to future opportunities to work together.
