On Tuesday, March 21st, The Glenham Fire Department had the opportunity to train in a building that is scheduled to be demolished. Firefighters performed several evolutions of search and rescue training. Using a fog machine to simulate smoke conditions similar to those found in a fire, firefighters used different skills to search, locate and remove a victim that was trapped in the building with little to no visibility. Chief officers also worked with newer line officers on skills such as incident command and going over size up of a building during an incident.

Over the next few weeks, Glenham firefighters will continue to take advantage of the building for assorted types of training and host our mutual aid departments to train alongside us.
