The officers and members of the Glenham Fire Department would like to thank Active Life member Edward Wilson for his 39 years of active service to our department. In total, Ed has almost 50 years service as a volunteer. Earlier this month, at our company’s monthly meeting, Ed announced he was going exempt.

Edward, or better known as Eddie, began his volunteer service to his community first as a volunteer in the City of Beacon Fire Department at the Lewis Tompkins Hose Company and then later joining Glenham. Eddie has been a very active member in our department over the years holding the position of Director for many year and has served on and chaired several committees. Eddie also served the company as a member of the fire police and as an apparatus operator. Thank you for all your years of service Eddie!

Dad,

Thank you for all you have given to the community through your many years of selfless service. Thank you for being a positive role model and for introducing me, through the Fire Department, to the values of duty, service, respect, selflessness, and personal courage. I know a large part of who I am today is due to the early lessons I learned as a young volunteer. I have dedicated my life to helping others in your example. Your legacy will continue. I am very proud of you.

Your Son,
Ed Wilson II
