To our fantastic Glenham Community:

The Glenham Fire Department, along with our friends from the Beacon Volunteer Ambulance Corps., Mobile Life Support, the Town of Fishkill Police Department and at times other area support services, has been providing birthday parades to the residents of Glenham during the major shutdown period of the Covid-19 Pandemic and it has been our honor and privilege to do so. The smiles we were able to bring to so many of your children's face's (ok, the adult's too) were worth every one of those drive-by's. Admittedly they also did an incredible amount to help boost the morale of our own members who were able to participate during these tough times.

However, Dutchess County has continued to open up more and people are starting to go back to work. Many of our all-volunteer department have returned to work as well. So, in order to be able to better protect "The Hamlet" and serve our community with the firematic and EMS services you've come to expect and deserve, we had to make the tough decision to end those parades as of Tuesday, June 30th.

We also need to get back on track with our regular training & drills, work details around the fire house and company meetings that are allowed to now take place again. These items themselves are quite a commitment for membership, but we do it for you.

As always, we thank you all for your support and we look forward to continuing to serve and protect the people of Glenham and our surrounding communities. Stay safe and be well.

Sincerely,

Glenham Fire Department
Slater Chemical Fire Company

P.S. - Here is some footage from one of our parades. Again, it has been an absolute pleasure on our part!
