| The Glenham Fire Department is proud to announce that Junior Firefighter Olivia Reynolds has been selected as the recipient of the department's 2026 Scholarship Award.
On Wednesday, June 18, 2026, Olivia was presented with a Certificate of Achievement and a $500 scholarship award by Assistant Chief Doug Zukowski and Scholarship Chairman Robert Dross in recognition of her outstanding service and dedication to the department.
Each year, graduating high school seniors who serve as Junior Firefighters with the Glenham Fire Department are eligible to receive this scholarship, provided they have satisfied all requirements and maintained their status as a Junior Firefighter in good standing with the company.
Olivia has not only met those requirements but has exceeded them throughout her time with the department. This award acknowledges her for exemplifying the highest standards of dedication, effort, and achievement as a Junior Firefighter. Her commitment to service, willingness to learn, and unwavering pursuit of excellence have made her a valued member of the Glenham Fire Department family. Her dedication and accomplishments continue to inspire those around her and leave a lasting legacy of leadership and example for future Junior Firefighters to follow.
Following her graduation, Olivia plans to continue her commitment to public service by entering the United States Navy, where she intends to pursue a career as a Quartermaster (Navigator). In this critical role, she will be responsible for helping guide naval vessels safely across the world's oceans while ensuring missions remain on course and on schedule. Specializing in navigation, charts, maps, and oceanography, Olivia will serve in the ship's pilot house, where her expertise will help determine the vessel's position, plot courses, and maintain safe passage through changing sea conditions.
As a Quartermaster, she will become an essential member of the ship's navigation team—the equivalent of a ship's GPS—providing the information and guidance necessary for safe and effective operations. Every Sailor aboard will depend on the accuracy of her work to help keep the vessel mission-ready and operating safely. Her service will play a vital role in supporting operational readiness and ensuring the success of Navy missions around the globe.
The officers and members of the Glenham Fire Department are proud of Olivia's decision to continue serving others through military service and have no doubt that the same dedication, professionalism, and leadership she demonstrated as a Junior Firefighter will make her a tremendous asset to the United States Navy.
We pray for Olivia's safety, health, and well-being as she joins America's forces for good and continues her commitment to serving others. Through her work in the United States Navy, she will help protect and support her fellow service members while contributing to the security and readiness that benefit all of us here at home.
Though her journey will take her beyond Glenham, she will always remain a valued member of our fire department family. We are immensely proud of her accomplishments, grateful for her service, and look forward to following her future successes.
Fair winds and following seas, Olivia. Your Glenham Fire Department family is proud of you and stands behind you every step of the way. |
