| Since 1991, John Steele has been a dedicated and respected member of the Glenham fire family, serving our department and community with unwavering commitment for more than three decades.
John currently serves as an Interior Firefighter, Commissioner, and Treasurer, and previously held the role of Financial Secretary. His leadership and passion for the fire service extend well beyond our department. He is a Past President and current Vice President of the Dutchess County Association of Fire Districts and proudly represents Westchester, Dutchess, and Putnam counties as a Director with the New York State Association of Fire Districts.
Before beginning his fire service career, John honorably served our nation in the United States Air Force, completing his tour in 1974. Professionally, he dedicated 40 years to the systems department for a firm on Wall Street and continues to give back through part-time security work with BCSD, the Dutchess Fairgrounds, and his local church.
John’s commitment to service is shared by his wife, Vicky Steele, who serves as Auxiliary Treasurer and District Secretary. Together, they remain an important part of the Glenham family and enjoy spending their free time in Gettysburg.
