The officers and members of the Slater Chemical Fire Company would like to thank anyone who participated in our first time providing and collecting shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child by Samaritan's Purse. We handed out 96 and have received 86 back, fully packed with Personal Care Items, School Supplies, Accessories and Toys for underprivileged children. They've also paid a $10 donation to help offset all of the costs Samaritan's Purse puts into this program in order to ship these to the children in more than 170 countries (yes, including right here in the USA).

We received a multitude of thank you's from our community members who participated for our participating in this program this year. They were happy and generous and we appreciate that. For most, if not all, of these children, these will be the first Christmas Gift they've ever received ... perhaps the first gift of any type.
